BONANG GRACES GQ’S POWER ISSUE
The Queen B, Bonang Matheba adds another coveted media accolade to her resume next month with a cover and feature article in GQ’s “Power Issue”.
The September issue of GQwill feature the artists, personalities and iconic figures of South African popular culture who are at the top of their game and celebrating all the success that comes with it. First among this illustrious group is cover star Bonang, who will be the magazine’s sole iconography when it hits newsstands – no headlines, just Bonang: the ultimate power move.
This will be the first solo female cover from GQ SA in more than 8 years, with its minimalist approach on cover text and the single cover line “The Power Issue”.
“Our September Power issue is a celebration of everything that being powerful means in 2018 – confident, considered and consistent. I love being able to support and showcase dynamic South Africans. As one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, and with a proven track record of excellence and inspiration, no one is more suited to star on our Power Issue than the incomparable Bonang Matheba, and I’m thrilled to have collaborated with her,” explains GQ Editor-in-Chief, Nkosiyati Khumalo.
The September issue will be released and will be on shelves on Monday, 27thAugust which perfectly coincides with Women’s Month and there is no one who embodies the strength, intelligence and sheer force of will that is at the centre of every woman.
Bonang joins fellow powerhouse personalities, Roger Federer, Diddy and a host of others for one of the magazine’s biggest issues this year. To celebrate, GQ alongside Courvoisierhosted a cover party at The Four Seasons Hotel in Johannesburg on Thursday the 23rdof August. Along with a three course meal, guests will enjoy Bonang’s signature Courvoisiercocktail: Fleur De Courvoisier – a fruity and floral accompaniment perfect for celebrating SA’s reigning queen of media.
